Music

The plan is to create a resource for musicians and artists, eventually we want to get people chatting and helping each other out, but that‘s a longer term goal, in the immediate we see this page as a place where people can come and check out the bands and artists who‘ve played at our events, the majority of whom will have done so not for financial reward, but to help amp and to support the various different causes we try to represent

Awareness through Art and Music

The ArtMusicPolitic Co-operative (amp) is born of desire to spread political awareness through music and art. Amp is unaffiliated instead preferring to provide a platform through live music and art for groups and organisations that have something to say about the world. More interested in questions than answers, in awareness than enlightenment amp seeks to reach out to the non-aligned, the neutral and the 'couldn't care less'.

Since we began we have showcased up and coming musical talent and provided a forum through which exciting new and established artists can display their work in a non-traditional setting. At the same time we have worked with charities and NGOs such as Survival, War On Want, Learning For Life and Friends of the Earth, as well as many others.

At an amp event you will typically expect to see some of the best live music and DJs around, be exposed to art which both challenges and provokes and confronted by questions and possible solutions to the most pressing issues and dilemmas facing the world today.

amp is a non-profit co-operative. All proceeds from our various events are fed back into the co-op.

Through the staging of live music, art ‘type‘ events and other activities we:

support, promote and otherwise aid organisations, campaigns and single issues (e.g. NGOs, charities etc.) concerned with human rights, the environment and trade justice. We do this by providing a platform at our events which these groups can use to reach a wide audience.

help ‘new‘ musicians and artists to further their ambitions by inviting them to perform or exhibit at our events. We also maintain a network through which musicians and artists can keep in touch with one another and so help each other.

bring together people of varying belief, background and opinion and encourage connection through debate, exchange of ideas and a shared enjoyment of music and art.
